This is the music of Jon Carpenter. I’ve been playing guitar since 1987, initially inspired by The Fall and The Jesus and Mary Chain amongst other stuff. This is an archive of guitar instrumental pieces recorded since 2002, when I abandoned my ancient Tascam four track and began recording on a PC. Music is a twin passion, the other is photography, and in my mind, at least, the two complement each other well, with the photographs often inspiring the music and sometimes vice versa – music in my head will often allow me to focus when making pictures.
Links to collaborations with very lovely people are also available; it’s a great source of joy when somebody has reworked something I’ve recorded and made it into something new that I hadn’t envisaged for it.
